Reese Witherspoon: the Biography by Lauren Brown

This, as the title says, is a biography. Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses. Why? She's beautiful and very talented, and she's so down to earth and 'normal'. Okay, so I don't know her personally, but to me, she seems very natural and not some stupid bimbo, or a diva, which some people in Hollywood seem to be. I have most of her movies in my movie collection and I like her in every one. So, about this book: Lauren Brown writes about who Reese is, what she was like growing up, and she writes about Reese's career as well as her marage (when she was married to Ryan Phillippe). To me, this book was very interesting, and I think people would enjoy it even if they're not fans of Reese. I mean, I like to read biographies even if they're about someone I don't look up to or are that interested in. (I'm in a hurry so please excuse my spelling mistakes/grammatical errors..I'm sure there are some).

Rules of Attraction by Simone Elkeles

How good was this book? I've been waiting months to read this since I liked Perfect Chemistry. And you know what? I loved this book even more! I found the characters in this book more interesting and I could relate more to Kiara than Brittany (from Perfect Chemistry). Alex and Brittany from the first book are in this one too, but the main characters are Alex's younger brother, Carlos, and Kiara, the girl he falls in love with. Just like in Perfect Chemistry, the two main characters are two very different people. Carlos is a gang member who moves from Mexico to live with his brother in the US. After some time Carlos move in with Kiara and her family due to unfortunate circumstances, and he's not happy with that.

Kiara is not like other girls. She wears large t-shirts and doesn't really care about looks. Carlos finds Kiara annoying at first and tries to avoid her, but it's her job to make sure he settles in at school, so she's around him most of the time. As time goes by, both of them begin to realize that there is something between them - or rather that there could be something between them. But Carlos is afraid to let anyone in and Kiara is afraid to get her heart broken.

I can't tell you much more, because I don't want to give it all away, but it was definitely one of the best books I've read. Too bad I read it so quickly.

Style by Lauren Conrad

I know, this isn't YA, but I'm going to review different kinds of books. I'm not the kind of person who watches all sorts of reality TV shows, and if it hadn't been for Lauren, I probably hadn't become a fan of The Hills. Well, referring to myself as a fan might be to exaggerate. I like the show, but it's not my favorite show on TV/DVD. However, I really like Lauren. I must say I wouldn't mind having her life. I'd love to have the opporunity to work both as a writer and a designer. What a perfect combination! I also think I'm much like her in some ways, but I'm definitely not exactly like her.

Anyway, this post is supposed to be about the book, so here we go: Like I said, I really like Lauren. I think she's absolutely beuatiful. She's a real beauty and not some stupid bimbo with layers upon layers of make-up. I also like her personality, and the way she dresses! I don't think I've ever seen a picture of her and thought "what is she wearing?!" She has a very elegant style, but she also dresses very casually (but beautifully) at times. I'm not a fashion slave and I don't own a single fashion/style book except for this one. Style by Lauren Conrad is such a good book! It's filled with tips on how to put on make-up for different occasions, how to put together an outfit, how to update clothes you don't like and much more. When I say it's filled with tips, I mean it. There is so much to read, and beautiful pictures to look at. The books is really inspirational and I don't regret buying it. If you like Lauren or just need fashion advice, you should buy this book! I loved it!

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

I'm pretty sure most people know about Twilight by now, so I won't really get into the storyline. In short, though, it's about a teenage girl, Bella, who falls in love with a vampire, Edward. I read the book in 2009 and I was hooked from the first few pages. For two days (a weekend) I did nothing but read and when I was finished I immediately ordered the other books in the series.

I can't really explain why it drew me in the way it did; I just know that I could see Forks, its forests and rainy weather very clear in my head. I liked the feeling I got when reading it; a wet, yet cozy, place. For me, reading Twilight for the first time was more of a...how do I explain it? I felt the story. I sensed Forks. I could almost smell the rain. And, of course, there was Edward Cullen. I've never really cared about the fact that he's a vampire. The vampires and werewolves are not that important to me. I would have liked Edward even if he was just a normal teenage boy. Well, not normal, perhaps. He's very romantic and caring, and all the romantic and beautiful things he says to Bella makes my heart beat faster. And the fact that the most good-looking guy in school falls for a 'plain Jane' who's clumsy and a bit shy, really appeals to me.

There are people who don't like Twilight and who think vampires are silly, but again, it's definitely not about the vampires for me. It's a love story above all. That's what made me a fan of Twilight. The love between Bella and Edward. Their love is so passionate and they really need each other. I love it.
